Dalt Vila, Ibiza
In-Between Ibiza
Located in the heart of Dalt Vila, In-Between Ibiza is a beautiful Ibiza art gallery curated by Jessica Courtney and dedicated to showcasing local and international contemporary artists whose work reflects the island’s unique history, eccentricity and creativity.
When you think of a commercial art gallery, your mind might conjure an image of glass windows, behind which a stark white space encloses intimidating people dressed in asymmetrical black. This is the exact opposite of Jessica Courtney’s vision for In-Between Ibiza – her beautifully curated gallery in the heart of Dalt Vila. Dedicated to promoting the work of emerging artists, both local and international, the charming Ibiza art gallery was created to connect the island with the wider world via remarkable art in a truly stunning setting.
Overlooking the Roman statue that stands sentinel at the main rampart entrance to this UNESCO World Heritage Listed area, the In-Between Ibiza neon sign lends a playful contrast to the ancient sandstone walls. Housed within what was once a private home, the Ibiza art gallery is set across two distinct levels, each with vaulted ceilings and original features. Through the balcony doors, the sounds of Dalt Vila drift in: the laughter and chitchat of tourists and locals alike, unchanged in essence for centuries. This sense of past and present is what both the island and In-Between Ibiza represent. Jessica chose the name to reflect the idea that art exists between everything, connecting people, cultures and perspectives, just as Ibiza does.
After graduating in history and international relations, Brighton-born Jessica completed an art business course at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Having spent extended time in Ibiza during her childhood, she always knew she would one day combine her two passions: art and the island. Years spent working across the UK’s commercial art scene – from prestigious white cube galleries and museums to global art fairs such as Frieze – she finally realised her dream and opened the doors to her own Ibiza gallery in 2024, when In-Between Ibiza was born.
The debut exhibition to grace the walls of the Ibiza gallery featured a series of dreamy watercolours by London-based artist Kara Marshall. Her wild west cowboys, galloping horses and bold female forms were a hit. Next came a joint show from Helen McCusker and Amanda Seibæk, followed by Australian duo Gelbell (Bella Greene and Gel Wootton), whose Ibiza-inspired works came to life during their residency at San Antonio-based Vessel Studio. Their vital paintings brought the walls of In-Between Ibiza alive, depicting abstract beach scenes from around the island. In 2025, Karimah Hassan presents her largest body of work to date in her impressive solo show titled If Thoughts Become Things.
Jessica doesn’t work with a visual thematic throughline so much as a philosophical one. While every artist who exhibits at this Ibiza gallery works in their own unique style, what unites them is the island itself – as muse, as memory or memento. Many of the artists have a personal connection to Ibiza, while others find themselves newly and deeply inspired by it. The result is a series of evolving exhibitions that feel both grounded and exploratory. With a price range to suit all budgets and international shipping available, In-Between Ibiza is welcoming to passersby and serious collectors alike, encouraging visitors to pause, reflect and connect in one of the most emblematic locations on the island.
