Located on Vara de Rey, the busy main square in the heart of Ibiza town, Jara at The Standard, Ibiza teeters between an indoor restaurant and casual café that spills out onto the street. By day, the vibrant green interiors and jungle-themed soft furnishings are illuminated by licks of sunshine; by night, the velvet curtains are closed over, creating a cavernous space for the unpredictable to unfold. Meanwhile, the alfresco Ibiza restaurant space purrs with lively chatter from breakfast and brunch right through to lunch, dinner and whatever lies beyond. Which leads to the excellent farm to table food available at Jara at The Standard, Ibiza. Divided across four distinct menus, breakfast revolves around eggs, tostadas all-ways, and freshly squeezed juices. Cocktails are a must, naturally, so dive into a Bloody Mary, peach Bellini or a Mimosa. The rest of the day at the Ibiza restaurant is dedicated to Spanish-inspired cuisine. Starters include garlic prawns with smoked paprika and garlic, crispy calamari with basil avocado cream and pico de gallo, and tomato tartar with capers, mustard, radishes and toasted bread.
A range of nutritious salads then pave the way for the Ibiza restaurant’s main courses. Think Caesar salad with crispy chicken, and Burrata with Ibizan tomatoes, followed by tasty rice dishes and mouth-watering options including slow roast cod with artichoke, clams and brandade; charcoal octopus with roasted sweet potato and smoked paprika syrup; smoked chicken with charcoal vegetables and fennel chimichurri; and vegan burger with caramelized onion, vegan mayo and fries. Jara at The Standard, Ibiza also offers a variety of sides and decadent desserts like chocolate mousse with cherry glaze and typical greixonera with Ibizan herbs.
Once darkness descends on the Ibiza restaurant., it’s all about the freshly made drinks.
