Twas the night before Christmas and all through Jara at The Standard, Ibiza, diners were indulging in a special one-night-only Christmas Eve Menu created by their very talented Executive Chef, designed with the intent to fill you up and send you home before Santa comes tumbling down the chimney.
Shared starters include Iberian ham on toasted coca bread; white prawn tartare with black truffle; a mushroom and Port parfait; and a winter salad of sweet potato, beetroot and roasted orange. The main course is served family-style with the option to choose between monkfish, prawns and clams or slow-cooked suckling pig with spiced pineapple chutney, followed by nougat crème caramel and petit fours. Drinks included per person are a glass of cava on arrival, plus half a bottle of wine, beer, water and soft drinks.
Start your night with an early evening wander round the Christmas Market on Vara de Rey and stock up on any last minute present buying, soak up the festive cheer then head inside to The Standard, Ibiza, where the festive evening comes to life with a Balearic soundtrack from Willie Graff as the restaurant settles into its warm cosy rhythm.
