Petit Vermut

Bucking the trend for the kind of bars traditionally found in Ibiza, Petit Vermut is the island’s very first ‘Vermuteria’.

Address

Calle de Ses Verdures 1, Eivissa, 07800

Why we love it

Old friends are the best friends and we've been sipping tasty vermut here longer than we'd like to admit!

At a glance

A teensy tiny corner bar beneath the Dalt Vila ramparts that's always filled with colourful characters and boasts an impressive set of playlists.

Editor's tip

Tell Diana and Oscar that White Ibiza sent you! And don't leave without trying the pickled anchovies.

A venue serving a wide selection of the finest Vermouths. For the uninitiated, Vermouth is a fortified wine that’s been sweetened and fused with brandy, herbs and spices and it’s definitely having a moment.

Distinct on the outside thanks to rustic wooden doors and stools for perching over stacked, colourful crates; inside Petit Vermut is a more industrial affair, with fully stocked shelves of goodies and little tables flanked by steel chairs. Owned and hosted by Diana and Oscar, who always dole out warm welcomes with big smiles, this little bar occupying a cute-as-a-button corner in Ibiza town is the ideal spot for an aperitivo before dinner.

Petit Vermut is the perfect place for supping on a glass of sweet or dry Vermouth (straight up, on the rocks or with a spritz of soda from the retro atomizer bottles on every table) but it’s also worth sampling a few of their traditional Catalonian tapas. Try the anchovies with pickles or a little selection of cockles and mussels for a real flavour sensation. Cocktails are also available – with Vermouth being the star ingredient in on-trend Negronis along with classic Martinis – but whatever you drink it’s well worth stopping off to soak up the bar’s lively spirit and unique appeal.
