An annual culinary tradition – Ottolenghi at Atzaró
On Saturday August 02, 2025, acclaimed chef Yotam Ottolenghi makes his third pilgrimage to the rural north of Ibiza to host a sharing-style feast at the luxurious Atzaró Agroturismo Hotel.
There’s a saying whispered among cooks on the island that once a chef has worked with the humble Ibiza tomato, they’ll never be able to go back to ‘reality’. This may be the case with acclaimed chef, author and restaurateur Yotam Ottolenghi, who makes his third trip to the island this August – specifically to the stunning Atzaró Agroturismo Hotel – as he prepares to host the next edition of his magical yearly event, Ottolenghi at Atzaró. Having been gifted his pick of Atzaró Vegetable Garden’s daily harvest (which yields much more than just the classic red tomato) to create a vegetable-rich, flavour-filled, five course sharing-style meal for the occasion, it’s no surprise that tickets to Ottolenghi at Atzaró on Saturday August 02, 2025 are already flying out the (virtual) door.

Ripe, red tomatoes, plump purple aubergines, enormous cauliflowers, crispy cucumbers, all sizes, shapes and assortments of leafy greens, myriad peppers and chillies, the estate’s signature citrus fruits, mixed aromatic Mediterranean herbs and so much more – the bounty hailing from the three-hectare Atzaró Vegetable Garden is organic, abundant and a true showcase of the authentic taste of Ibiza. In the hands of Ottolenghi – the man whose regular column in The Guardian newspaper helped shift global culinary attitudes to a more veggie-centric approach to eating and cooking (known as ‘the Ottolenghi effect’) – these ingredients are transformed into colourful, vibrant plates of pleasure that are almost too good to share. Except, of course, sharing is all part of the fun when you dine Ottolenghi-style at Atzaró.
After a hugely successful inaugural event in 2023, and a spectacular follow up in 2024, the anticipation for Ottolenghi at Atzaró in 2025 is palpable. Guests arrive to the iconic luxury hotel at 8pm, just in time to catch the marvel of the sunset over the gardens and the sky aflame with rose-gold hues before the moon and stars appear to punctuate the deep violet night sky. Wander down the gorgeous garden path with your loved ones, follow the sound of the music, breathe in the unmistakable smell of orange blossom, savour the views and the vibes, and soon you’ll arrive at the giant umbrella palm tree, where you’ll be greeted with a welcome drink before being led to your seat in the gorgeous garden plaza. Here, long, rustic wooden tables are lined up, community style, and beautifully decorated in the spirit of Ottolenghi at Atzaró.

One of the most beautiful elements of previous Ottolenghi at Atzaró events has been watching ‘table neighbours’ get to know each other over the course of the night, sharing stories, and perhaps even contact details, while sharing the incredible feast of flavours prepared for the occasion. It’s impossible not to swoon as you taste the first mouthful of each course; but first, an introduction to each dish comes from the man himself. Warm, incredibly humble, and a fountain of knowledge when it comes to food and the feelings it evokes, the main meal begins with a welcome speech by Ottolenghi, who speaks of his inspiration for each dish, describing the flavours, ingredients and techniques used to create them in mouthwatering detail, and then, the feasting begins!
Five heavenly courses are prepared by Ottolenghi and his kitchen team, each designed to be shared family-style, across the table, while attentive Atzaró waitstaff keep your glasses topped up with local wines throughout the evening. The meal begins with a first course of crispy cauliflower fritters, given a glow-up with fenugreek and charred lemon sauce and served alongside freshly baked sourdough bread with olive oil. The second course features platters of that famous Ibiza tomato with cucumber, drizzled in creamy, nutty tahini and spicy dukkah oil, plus the Atzaró Vegetable Garden salad, made with preserved lemon, nigella and sesame seeds – as the name suggests, all ingredients are harvested fresh from the garden that very same day. You don’t get any fresher than that.
The third course is a twist on an Ottolenghi fave, given the Atzaró treatment to pack a flavour-filled punch: grilled piattoni beans with local herbs and crunchy pistachios. The fourth course is the Ottolenghi at Atzaró showstopper, featuring an array of vibrant colours, fabulous flavours and mixed textures through dishes including the succulent grilled chicken Shawarma (with a celeriac version available for vegetarians and those following a plant-based lifestyle), served alongside hibiscus and long pepper pickled onions; toum (a rich, Middle Eastern garlic sauce), green tahini and red chilli shatta (a hot sauce hailing from the Levant); a more-ish confit of chickpeas with tomatoes, plus piles and piles of flatbread to dip, dunk and dine with at your leisure. Finally, dessert comes in the form of sticky apricots with cardamom yoghurt cream and filo wafer – a sweet end to an even sweeter evening.
As the night progresses, guests get the chance to mingle and chat with Ottolenghiand will receive a signed copy of his most recently published cookbook, COMFORT, to remember the night, and perhaps even try to create a little of their own Ottolenghi at Atzaró magic at home. The combination of one of the world’s most revered (and lovely!) chefs and the luxurious and unforgettable surroundings of Atzaró create an authentic Ibiza experience like no other. With just one seating held on one night each year, tickets are in high demand and are expected to sell out prior to the event so be sure to gather your friends and loved ones and book yours now.

Tickets to Ottolenghi at Atzaró are 245€ per person and include a welcome drink on arrival, the full five-course Ottolenghi sharing dinner, drinks, live music, entertainment and a signed copy of COMFORT. Tables of four, six or more are recommended to best enjoy the sharing-style experience over the long, wooden tables in the Atzaró Vegetable Garden but couples on romantic date nights and even solo foodies seeking an exceptional gourmet experience can be accommodated. In true Ottolenghi style, the more people around a table, the merrier.
