As the first hotel in Ibiza to receive the prestigious Gran Lujo designation (translating to five-star grand luxe), Ibiza Gran Hotel has remained a beacon of island luxury for almost two decades. This season sees a gentle revamp of the resort’s Deluxe Suites and Open Spa treatment rooms, plus stunning additions to its vast art collection – proving once again, the brand’s unwavering commitment to quality, excellence and service. 

The team from Barcelona-based Sandra Tarruella Interioristas extended their vision from last year’s renovation of the hotel’s signature restaurant La Gaia – Ibiza Gran Hotel, plus their recent Gran Suite Dalt Vila refurbishments, into the new suite designs. Each of the 13 loft-style deluxe suites embraces the distinctive warmth of the Mediterranean palette through natural materials, stone flooring, bespoke furnishings and opulent textiles. Designed to induce tranquillity, these contemporary spaces are comforting, functional and above all, chic. The larger Gran Suites at Ibiza Gran Hotel elevate the experience further, with expansive terraces, private pools and picturesque views that make it all too easy to stay exactly where you are – even when the rest of Ibiza is calling with its temptations.

Art is central to the Ibiza Gran Hotel experience, and new additions to the collection further reinforce its position as Ibiza’s only true Art Hotel. Curated by Aba Art, more than 400 unique contemporary works from a range of local and international artists are displayed throughout the sprawling complex. The newly decorated lobby required something particularly special and Mallorcan artist Joan Costa was commissioned to create a site-specific sculpture. It’s an homage to the protected posidonia seaweed found across the Balearics, an essential component in keeping the sea crystal clear. Mimicking the gentle curves of seagrass floating in water, the shapes connect the hotel to its surrounds. From suites and corridors to terraces and gardens, every corner of the hotel is filled with creativity.

Gastronomy is another cornerstone of Ibiza Gran Hotel, offering a culinary line-up that reflects both international prestige and local character. Mornings are peaceful and relaxed, with a breakfast that has become legendary for guests and outside visitors alike. The Grand Breakfast promises the perfect start to your Ibiza day. Stations piled high with delicacies are fitted across the dining area, where tables extend out to the sun-dappled garden and a string quartet provides the soundtrack to your meal. Choose from fresh-squeezed, nutrient-rich juices and healthy yoghurt bowls stacked with fruit and granola; locally sourced charcuterie, farm-fresh eggs however you like them (with the made-to-order omelettes highly recommended) or indulge in decadent home-baked pastries, chocolate-dipped treats and a sumptuous selection of cakes and puddings.
