Sun-Rice at ROTO Ibiza
A new gastronomic concept comes to ROTO Ibiza every Sunday this winter, tapping into one of Spain’s most celebrated culinary traditions. Sun-Rice is a weekly experience that encourages islanders to head to Marina Botafoch and gather around a table with their gourmand gang, tuck into a tasty paella and let the afternoon roll into evening over delicious cocktails, even better conversation and in true Ibiza style, great music.
Kicking off from 1pm, the laid-back afternoon centres around a live cooking show, courtesy of paellero José Herrera, who lovingly builds, stirs and scrapes his giant paellera until it reaches peak paella magic: steaming, sticky, saffron-infused rice with plump chunks of fish and fresh seafood. While the maestro is in action, diners can stimulate their appetites with bread and alioli, a fresh Ibiza tomato salad with extra virgin olive oil and grilled sardines, before the main event arrives – all for just 35€, including a dessert. After lunch and after dark, the cocktails keep flowing and special guest DJs crank the music up a notch for some dancing until the very civilised hour of 8pm. The ideal way to beat the Sunday Scaries.
