When the sun hangs heavy and everything slows, island-based artist Malvina Kang Hughes captures it on canvas – not in literal form, but with texture, softness and sensory stillness. Love Letter to Summer, showing at Olas Gallery in Santa Eulalia, is her tender homage to the ephemeral moments that define the island’s favourite season: warm jasmine evenings, iced lollies melting too fast and crisp linen against sticky limbs.
Malvina, who lives in the quiet countryside of Santa Ines, paints intuitively with rhythm and restraint. Her works unfold like a memory, non-linear, atmospheric and emotionally precise. Created outdoors using raw canvas and the elements, each piece seems to breathe with the same breeze that shapes it. Curated by Ibiza photographer and gallerist Sofia Gomez Fonzo, the show runs until September 06, 2025, and Olas Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm.
