Winner: The Fish Shack
The no-name humble little chiringuito on the rocky outcrops past Talamanca – with a nickname that was thrust upon it by its legions of local and international fans – has well and truly earned its legend status, from born-and-bred Ibicencos and long-time island residents to visiting DJs, supermodels and of course, White Ibiza readers. No matter who you are, it’s old school vibes, walk-ins only, no credit cards and a chalkboard menu featuring only the freshest catch of the day (and lamb chops!), just the way it should be.
Runner-up: Bar Anita’s
A former hippie hangout in San Carlos that still evokes the true spirit of Ibiza, this cornerstone of island culture will never go out of style. Open all year round, for breakfast lunch and dinner and still serving up the same recipes as it was in the 60s, there’s no question this restaurant remains firmly in our readers’ hearts, even when they’re not on the island!
Best Chef
Winner: Rafa Zafra (Jondal)
He’s one of the undisputed culinary kings of the island, having honed his craft from his mother and grandmother’s kitchens to the very finest, MICHELIN-starred restaurants in Spain, and it’s here at Jondal – our readers’ favourite beach chiringuito – that Zafra feels most at home, and it shows through his charismatic persona and masterful menu. The waitlist here can be longer than a super club queue in high summer, but our readers know that it’s oh-so-worth it.
Runner-up: Martín Vazquez (Sa Capella)
This Argentinean-born chef has manned (and mastered) the mighty grills of the island’s best-known restaurants and has definitely earned his nickname ‘king of the grill’ over the years, but it’s his residency in the swanky new Sa Capella kitchen that has really gotten our readers talking… and voting.
Best Mixologist
Winner: James Harvey (Paradise Lost)
At the helm of our readers’ favourite drinking den is one of the best pro barmen in the biz and our readers know it! James Harvey is a long-term Ibiza dweller who couldn’t find the type of establishment he wanted to drink at in Ibiza, so he created it himself. He’s the go-to-guy for rum and cocktail connoisseurs, not to mention those looking for a pristinely made classic with a side of pirate panache.
Runner-up: Nicolas Baptiste (Experimental Beach Ibiza, Experimental Montesol)
As Balearic F&B manager for the Experimental Group, this French-born bartender by trade has mixed, shaken and stirred his way around Europe and is the expert mixologist behind some of the island’s (and our readers’) most-sipped drinks!
Best Sommelier
Winner: Rosa Hamersma (Sake&Co)
No content with her incredible depth of knowledge about the wine world after running the boutique and distribution company Vino&Co alongside her father and sister for years, this boundary-pushing sommelier fell in love with sake at first sip and has since made a(nother) career out of it, qualifying at the highest possible level in Japan before returning to Ibiza where she now educates and supplies the finest venues, villas and discerning drinkers in Ibiza.
Runner-up: Anders Enkvist (SOMM)
The owner and founder of Santa Gertrudis wine store, SOMM – also a qualified sommelier – has been picking and choosing vinos for our readers, for their favourite restaurants and hotels (and us!) for years and his experience has proven to be award-worthy.
Best One-Off Event
Winner: Freddie Rocks at Pikes Ibiza
We love it when a party has a heart, and our readers seem to think so too. The soirée that celebrates legendary Queen singer Freddie Mercury’s birthday returned to Pikes after a brief hiatus, and while guests dined on Freddie’s favourite foods, sipped on his favourite drinks and danced in his former hotel suite, they also raised money for Mercury Phoenix Trust – the foundation launched by Freddie’s bandmates and manager.
Runner-up: Solomun at The Port
The annual free party in the port, hosted by Diynamic main man Solomun in collaboration with Pacha Ibiza has long been a favourite of White Ibiza readers, as island residents, workers and holidaymakers come together beneath the skyline of Dalt Vila to dance to one of the world’s finest DJs in the open air. 2024 marked the 10th edition of the event – it’s been running one year longer than we’ve had awards!
Best Recurring Event
Winner: Back to Mine at Pikes Ibiza
The iconic Back To Mine label has long been known as a provider of the musical accompaniment to the mornings-after and now, with major league headliners and an incredible up-for-it crowd, it’s also established as the cream of the crop, must-visit party at Pikes Ibiza.
Runner-up: Melon Bomb at Pikes Ibiza
It’s always guaranteed to be a roadblock at Pikes Ibiza when island favourites Melon Bomb host their monthly Friday night soirée in Freddies and the 2024 season saw the lads continue reigning over the manor, in the manner to which they’ve become accustomed!
Best Club Night
Winner: Circoloco at DC-10 Ibiza
For the last 25 years, Mondays in Ibiza have been all about Circoloco at DC-10 Ibiza, the little club with the big booming heart situated at the end of the runway near Ibiza airport in San Jordi and our readers continue to score it as their favourite party night each summer.
Runner-up: WooMoon at Cova Santa
Ibiza’s genre-defying, experimental celebration that is WooMooN, continued its Sunday night residency at open-air venue Cova Santa in the hills outside of San José in 2024, and now makes its first appearance as a White Ibiza Award winner.
