La Grande Bouffe
Be it a vibrant Mediterranean feast or a bespoke menu inspired by global cuisines, La Grande Bouffe creates culinary magic for your unique event, be it an intimate gathering or an opulent Ibiza wedding.
Ibiza wedding catering company La Grande Bouffe is famed for its distinctively joyful approach to food, fun and festivities. The team comprises chef (and sartorial legend) James Knight, whose skillset was forged in London’s gastro-pub scene and BIB Gourmand-awarded restaurants such as Moro, Barrica and Rotorino; Hannah Lederer, who – in addition to her skills as a chef – relishes being the link between kitchen and client; and logistics specialist and managing director, Lee White, who has an eye for detail honed over a 20-year career in hospitality management. Combined, their exceptional experience and reputations deliver extraordinary, flavourful experiences with style and a smile.
An affable and easy-going bond is formed from the very first conversation with Hannah, after which a series of chats and emails are exchanged to share delicious ideas, dishes and favourite restaurants. Meanwhile, Lee takes each of the Ibiza wedding guests’ experiences and requirements into consideration, adapting the practicalities as needed. From setting up a full working kitchen in a field with no water source to creating masterpieces in a 400-year-old farmhouse or in the minimalist kitchen of a high-design villa, La Grande Bouffe approaches each catering challenge with ingenuity and skill.
Under Hannah’s guidance and James’ expertise, a tasting menu emerges. Clients can choose pre-designed set menus, tweak them to their tastes or work directly with the team to create a totally bespoke package. Whether you’re picturing a sit-down British-style extravaganza, a Mediterranean-inspired sharing feast, vibrant Indian street food or the fragrant spices and colours of a Middle Eastern banquet, La Grande Bouffe brings your Ibiza wedding catering vision to life with every mouthwatering morsel. Tastings take place at company’s Santa Eulalia kitchen and studio, where the impressive record collection is worked through on a turntable while Champagne is popped and sipped throughout the afternoon.
If you’ve enlisted a bar service, they’ll also be invited to tasting experience to ensure perfect food and drink pairings from the start. The fun begins as you chomp your way through a substantial series of canapés and starters, such as miso cured salmon, Spanish charcuterie or cauliflower bhaji, followed by mains like lamb with pomegranate molasses, sea bass ceviche, country chicken with yuzu avocado and pickled shallots or smoky baked tahini aubergine with roast tomato salsa. Desserts feature favourites such as lemon cheesecake pots, brownies or the iconic La Grande Bouffe Ibizan Mess – a stack of meringue, whipped cream and fruit, which the couple unceremoniously smash into pieces with an oversized rolling pin as their Ibiza wedding feast reaches its crescendo.
James describes the La Grande Bouffe style as rustic modern, with a foundational philosophy of generosity, bold flavours and above all, merriment. Possessing a hyper-focus on quality ingredients, the team’s relationships with top suppliers – from Galician fishmongers to organic Ibiza farms – underline their dedication guaranteeing every event, from intimate dinners and casual barbecues to grand 500-guest Ibiza weddings, is as seamless as it is spectacular and always delivered with that special La Grande Bouffe smile.
