Sun-kissed summer dining at Beso Beach Ibiza
The popular Las Salinas beach restaurant has opened its doors for another season of laid-back beachfront dining.
There’s a saying in the Balearics, repeated often throughout Spain that goes: no hay verano sin beso. That is, there’s no summer without a kiss. No one really knows where it originated, but for well over a decade now it’s also been recognised as the catchphrase for the internationally renowned beach club Beso Beach. And now that the brand’s beautiful Ibiza outpost, set on the shores of Las Salinas in the island’s south, has reopened and welcomed its first guests for the 2025 season, it seems the sentiment rings true: summer is officially here because Beso Beach Ibiza is back.
If it’s a sun-kissed beach day you’re after, the trick is to arrive early (from 11am) as the sunbeds at Beso Beach Ibiza (like many of the island’s beach clubs) can’t be pre-reserved, so it’s a case of first-in, best-tanned. Plonk yourself down on one of the singles or grab a group of friends and commandeer an oversized daybed (which seat up to four comfortably) and order coffees, fresh juices or cocktails as you settle in, lather on your sunscreen and go for a refreshing dip in the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and repeat all day long, with breaks for snacks, lunch and sundowners in-between.

When lunchtime rolls around, you’ll notice scores of guests strolling into Beso Beach Ibiza from the beachfront and through the pine forest, ready to tuck into the famous Mediterranean-meets-Basque menu the restaurant is famed for. The kitchen opens from 1pm and tables on the palm-fringed terrace fill up fast – this is the spot to survey the Salinas action throughout the season. Balearic beats begin to float across the airwaves, as resident DJs step into the booth to spin the soundtrack to your day, complemented by the sound of clinking glasses, holiday chatter and endless laughter.
Lunch at Beso Beach Ibiza is an experience designed to be savoured and shared. Start with silky slices of jamon Iberico, order an assortment of luxurious canned anchovies, mussels and cockles – a Basque tradition – or indulge in some luxurious caviar, all best washed down with icy cold vino or champagne. Once you’re into the groove, order a selection of starters to share, such as the Wagyu carpaccio with black truffle, 24-month aged Parmesan and rocket; the handmade burrata with tomato confit, pistachio powder and basil cream; and the spicy shrimp aguachile from the cold section of the menu.

From the hot starter menu, it’s hard to go past the restaurant’s signature Beso Beach grilled mussels; the charcoal grilled octopus with Ibicencan potato and Mediterranean muhamara; the old school favourite, homemade Iberian ham croquetas; or sizzling garlic prawns with Mallorcan sobrasada. Fresh seafood is a specialty at Beso Beach Ibiza, and when the time comes to order your main dish from the extensive menu, the biggest issue you’ll face is being spoilt for choice. Do you order from the grill, or opt for a traditional paella, fideuá or rice dish to share? Decisions, decisions…
In the Beso Beach Ibiza kitchen, a team of skilled chefs have mastered the art of cooking on an open flame, evidenced by the mouth-watering scents wafting off the triple-tier grill and coming from the state-of-the-art Josper all day long. Succulent sea bass and delicate turbot are the perfect hot weather lunch options, while a hearty 35-day aged chuleton and fall-off-the-bone veal ribs satisfy those looking for a hearty feast. Meanwhile, seafood lovers will find it hard to resist the Beso Beach seafood BBQ platter, brimming with grilled lobster, shrimp, prawns, scampi and clams – that is, unless they were already stopped in their tracks by the traditional Formentera-style lobster served with hand-cut potato chips, fried eggs (our tip: ask to top it with Caviar Osietra!).
Nothing says Spanish summer holiday like an oversized tray (or paellera) of freshly cooked paella or fideuá being delivered to your table (or sunbed), and the options at Beso Beach Ibiza are plentiful, not to mention varied enough to inspire you to eat lunch here multiple times a week! There’s the perennially popular seafood version; a mouth-watering lobster melt; a veggie-friendly version with artichoke blossoms; one brimming with prawns and more. Pasta lovers will adore the ultra-luxe red prawn and carabinero cannelloni, or the decadent lobster rigatoni – all designed to share between two and deftly served up in perfect portions by the pro waitstaff.

Over the course of the afternoon, an array of global guests gathers on the terrace, at the bar and in the sand, soaking up the rays, the beats, the buzz and the vibes as the day slowly turns to dusk. Open until 9pm daily, Beso Beach Ibiza also makes the ideal place for an early dinner, or après-beach or boat cocktails, with the bar staff on hand to expertly shake and stir all the classics until it’s time to bid the beach farewell for another day. As the saying goes, it really isn’t summer in Ibiza without Beso – fortunately for lovers of good food, fine wines and quintessential island vibes, there’s a very long summer of sun-kissed dining ahead.
