Room Service Ibiza is what happens when the worlds of fashion, art and design merge with that of the gourmet and the mixologist. Tucked into a historic corner within the labyrinthine streets of Ibiza’s old town, this petite and supremely cool Ibiza restaurant and bar has the ambience of a speakeasy but one doused in the balmy lightness of the island. Founded by fashion photographer Riccardo Vimercati, mixologist Roberto Rossi and entrepreneur Andrea Greci, the inspiration for Room Service Ibiza stems from the trio’s worldwide travels and penchant for snacking with cocktails. There’s a touch of New York, Paris and LA, but beneath the bar’s glossy good looks is the soul of a soon-to-be island institution.
The Ibiza restaurant’s raw and hot menu is designed to share over deep conversations, with options including fluffy homemade focaccia with thin slices of jamón iberico; toast with beef tartare, caper mayo and Parmigiano Reggiano; and a succulent melt-in-the-mouth carpaccio served with crème fraiche and blueberries. The Mediterranean is well represented via a selection of seafood such as tuna tartare tacos, red prawn carpaccio, octopus with potato and the future classic Room Service Ibiza lobster roll. Six different mini pizzas are topped with a cornucopia of delicious tidbits, perfectly designed to satisfy any craving.
While the gourmet offering is exceptional, it’s the cocktails that will leave a memorable impression and see you returning to Room Service Ibiza time and time again. Under the guidance of Rossi’s refined palate, the Ibiza restaurant’s expert bartenders slide a bowl of popcorn across the counter before getting to work on your tipple of choice. Sublime is an understatement and you’ll be forgiven for wanting to work your way methodically through the cocktail menu.
The Japanohile is a tall glass of creamy goodness that transports drinkers from the back streets of Sa Penya to Kyoto in a flash, fusing gin, yuzu, apricot and cherry blossom. An almost translucent slice of apple adorns the Apple Galore, with its sherry and apple flavours ignited by cava bubbles. The quirkily named 404 Page Not Found combines light rum with lime and red wine and the Nutty Buddy is the ideal Ibiza nightcap made with cognac and coconut water. The signature creations by Rossi at Room Service Ibiza are well-deserving of their accolades but his skill with the classics should not be ignored. Specialising in the Negroni, it’s rumoured the innovative Ibiza restaurant may soon make it available to purchase by the bottle.
Open seven days a week in summer, from 8pm until 3am, Room Service Ibiza is designed for late-night seekers of la dolce vita.
