Coffee is something Passion Café founder and creator Lana Love takes very seriously. So seriously in fact, that her newest venture, Maóna – an urban-inspired Ibiza coffee shop in a gentrified residential area in Playa d’en Bossa (just metres from the beach) – is dedicated to just that. Here, experienced baristas serve up Maóna’s very own specialty coffee blend, complemented by a matcha bar, cold-pressed juices, healthy takeout options, artisanal bakes, breakfast bowls, avocado toasts, focaccia and more.

Working exclusively with local coffee roasters, Meke, who use ethically traded, organic coffee beans, Maóna’s flavour profile is a timeless deep roast for a true caffeine kick. Ground à la minute and made with love and passion using the Ferrari of coffee machines, the sleek, retro-chic Strada, be it an espresso, cortado, flat white, Americano, café latte, cappuccino or whatever takes your fancy, a brew at this Ibiza coffee shop is guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning of coffee drinkers.

The extensive matcha menu includes shots, teas, lattes, a ‘flat green’, the matcha float and ginger matcha lemonade – pure and natural energy in all its forms. With over two decades’ experience in running Ibiza cafés, Lana is well aware of the importance of non-caffeinated beverages too. Fresh teas like mint, or ginger and lemon, sit alongside classic black and green teas on the Maóna menu, plus Passion Café classics like ayurvedic tea, spiced chai latte, superfood hot chocolate, Reishichino, Passion Bulletproof Coffee and more.

Be sure to sample the selection of toasts – made on bespoke, organic and light sourdough created for Maóna by revered chef David Rearte of Pomona. Choose from tomato; nut butter or jam; or try the fresh avocado toasts, ranging from classic feta, cherry tomatoes and basil to smoked salmon among others. Sandwiches are as ideal for take-away as they are for eating-in at the Ibiza coffee shop while checking emails or catching up with friends, and include the comforting melted cheddar and tomato, or turkey ham and cheese, while the new artisan focaccia sandwiches overflow with gourmet fillings like parma ham, mozzarella and rocket; goat cheese, olive tapenade and roasted vegetables; kimchi and melted cheese, and an addictive truffled cheese.

The Ibiza coffee shop boasts a well-stocked fridge with salads, healthy drink, cold-pressed Pressumia juices and health shots – perfect for beach picnics or taking on the nearby boat to Formentera – and there’s also granola, overnight oats, açai bowls, fresh-baked pastries, cakes, cookies and more. Maóna is first and foremost an Ibiza coffee shop however, and for those who fall in love with the custom blend, the good news is you can buy it to stock up at home too.

Set on the ground floor of Ibiza Royal Beach luxury apartment complex, Maóna is away from the hustle and bustle of the Playa d’en Bossa social scene, making it the perfect place for a quiet morning coffee, business meetings or remote working in the quietly chic interior, pre-beach snacks or simply a lovely breakfast or lunch with friends on the shaded terrace. Already attracting the island’s coffee nerds, Passion Café lovers, local residents and coffee-loving tourists, this newly opened Ibiza coffee shop is set to become a hotspot in its own right in no time.
