DC-10 Ibiza

Once an underground institution on the white isle, DC-10 Ibiza is now famed across the world for its back to basics, unpretentious style of clubbing that’s less focused on VIPs and more centred on relentlessly quality music — a rarity on Ibiza these days. Located near the still waters of the Ses Salines salt flats, and the airport (it was once an airport hangar) — you’ll no doubt have seen iconic images of aeroplanes flying low above the Ibiza club as they approach the runway, ravers with hands in the air and smiles on their faces dancing merrily below.

A lot has changed since the Ibiza club threw its first after-hours party in 1999. Today, DC-10 Ibiza is split into three main spaces: the garden, the main room and the wood-decked terrace (there’s also the backstage area if you’re lucky enough to get access but you need to secure a coveted wristband for that). Despite the glossy facelift, the ethos behind DC-10 remains unchanged: the promise to bring clubbers the best talent and lineups and an ‘everyone’s welcome’ ethos that unites a clued-up community of dance music fans from all corners of the world.

By day, the garden is unbeatable — there’s nothing like the feeling of dancing at an open-air Ibiza club alongside a bunch of likeminded souls — especially at sunset or during the club’s notoriously hedonistic opening and closing parties, which bookend the summer. Come darkness, clubbers head indoors, where every room is invariably packed from hot pink wall to wall and DC-10 Ibiza regulars like Seth Troxler, the Martinez Brothers and Tania Vulcano are getting rowdy behind the decks.

The demand to attend DC-10 Ibiza is so high that the Ibiza club rarely publicises its parties but regardless of line-up, Circoloco on Mondays should always be at the top of your list, with confirmed guests this summer including a who’s who of dance music’s finest including Saoirse, Ben UFO, Skrillex, The Blessed Madonna, Elkka and many more. Elsewhere and Solid Grooves returns every Thursday night, continuing its reign as one of the most popular parties on the island, and poster girl Amelie Lens slams down acid techno alongside a ream of top guests with her Exhale party, every Wednesday.
