Studio Go Ibiza
Founded by successful Belgian-born, Ibiza-based architect and interior designer Sam De Ridder, Studio Go has quickly earned a reputation as the island’s go-to boutique firm for chic and stylish homes with Mediterranean soul.
With the vision of a designer, the technical skills of a engineer, the heart of an artist and the soul of an islander, Sam De Ridder is far more than your average architect. The Belgian-born founder of independent Ibiza architecture and interior design agency Studio Go cut his teeth in the high-level residential firms of Antwerp after attaining a master’s degree in architecture and civil engineering, but despite his fascination for cities and the built environment, the harmonious traditions, design, and nature of Ibiza proved too alluring to resist.
Through his in-depth studies of some of the great architects of our time – including Le Corbusier, Erwin Broner and Phillipe Rotthier among others, all of whom were influenced by Ibiza’s architectural aesthetic – Sam had developed an acute awareness of the history and traditions of the island, including the typical finca and its unique cubic design elements. Eventually, he swapped grey skies for Balearic blues, launched Studio Go, and has never looked back.
Today, the multilingual creative’s work has evolved into a style that fuses his own artistic vision with the personalities, desires and styles of his clients, while retaining a refined Mediterranean soul. These are spaces that are designed to be lived in and to be loved by their owners, from natural, authentic and organic materials to high-spec furnishings and artisanal carpentry. Studio Go‘s international client base trust in Sam’s innate ability to interpret their dreams of building, renovating or redesigning and decorating their island homes.
From concept through to completion – right down to the very last fixture, fitting or piece of custom-made or sourced furniture – Sam is with his clients, every step of the way. He takes pride in being ultra-professional and thorough, beginning the process with a personal consultation, followed by sketches that become 3D renders and are then brought to life by his hand-picked team of Studio Go collaborators and constructors.
Sam sees architecture (whether new builds or refurbishments) and interior design as a symbiotic process, and there is no cookie cutter approach when working with Studio Go – no two homes or spaces are ever alike. Classic elements are used in modern homes and traditional features are lovingly preserved in finca refurbishments, but it’s the little details such as modern, minimalist and warm touches plus uniquely personal interior design and decoration, that bring the Ibiza magic clients are seeking.
Drawing on a fusion of his intellect and intuition, plus his extensive experience on and off the island, Sam thrives in the boutique environment of Studio Go, finding his day-today work anything but boring. His motto is that the agency is small enough to care, and big enough to cope, allowing the team to offer an ultra-personal service tailored to suit each homeowner or investor’s specific needs. Immersed in the beauty, nature, and architecture of the island he loves so much, Sam’s inspiration is obvious in the chic and stylish homes he creates – places and spaces that subtly echo the modern Mediterranean way of life.
