THE SUNRICE at The Beach, Unexpected Ibiza
The Beach, Unexpected Ibiza adds another layer to its culinary repertoire this season with THE SUNRICE – a laid-back monthly lunch experience dedicated to Spain’s most beloved dish. Set on the golden sands of Playa d’en Bossa, the gastronomic showcooking event kicks off at 1pm on the beach-facing terrace, where mellow beats float through the air and a series of starters including watermelon and prawn gazpacho with prawn popcorn; sweet potato croquettes with flame-torched cod slices; and mussels in marinera sauce. Then, the roster of in-house chefs takes turns manning the flames, preparing a selection of traditional and not-so-traditional rice dishes live, which are offered to guests in tasting-size portions throughout the afternoon.
Expect a relaxed crowd, excellent food, a rotating DJ soundtrack and the same stylish service that has made The Beach a go-to in this corner of the island. The full tasting menu (including starters, all paella variations and a sweet dessert surprise) is priced at 45€ per person, with optional drinks pairing available for 20€, including wine, beer, soft drinks and water and additional drinks by Volcan.
