Le Weekend MANUMISSION at 528 Ibiza
Once upon a time, when the Ibiza clubbing world was still in its infancy, Manumission turned the island upside down with a risqué string of events where the knife-edge of decency was danced and going out was all about the spectacle. While they said it would never happen, now, 18 years later the island’s most scandalous party is back to prove them wrong – promising to be as ooh la la and over-the-top as it was all those years ago, if not more. Le Weekend MANUMISSION takes place over three nights and three venues, with the main event held in the Benimussa hills at 528 Ibiza Saturday September 26, 2026 – an immersive experience inspired by Claire Manumission’s memoir, High Times at The Motel: High Times in 90s Ibiza.
Flashback to 1998: the soundtrack is curated accordingly and the crowd arrive in full 90s gear, complete with a mask (and open mind) for after dark antics. A huge three-storey stage replica of The Manumission Motel – designed in collaboration with the creatives behind Glastonbury’s Shangri-La and Boomtown Festival – is at the heart of it all, with Jaime Fiorito bringing the Balearic beats in tribute to his influential late father (and Manumission legend) Alfredo. Meanwhile, the famous Garden Stage becomes Hellfire in the Hong Kong Hot Tub with Carl Craig’s Detroit techno providing the soundtrack alongside the next-gen Manumission Girls, go-go boys and ji-ji drag queens.
The Forest Stage is all about Bedroom Bondage à la Japonaise, with island-based collective XTRA on hand with a mission to ‘Make Ibiza Queer Again’. After dark, slink your way between Roger Moore’s Darkroom (Club), where David Morales unites the underground spirit of New York’s Paradise Garage with 90s Ibiza, and Le Théâtre Pink Pussy (Teatro), where a string of selectors from Berghain and Trade spin the soundtrack alongside some Motel originals.
Whether you choose to hit all three events or cherry pick your favourites, this reworking of 90s Ibiza club culture gives a new generation a chance to see what all the fuss was about and the original pink pussy crew the opportunity to relive Ibiza’s good ol’ days. Discounted resident tickets are available, with full-price tickets on the door expected to sell out. Just remember – your phone is going to be rendered useless on this occasion so you can party like it’s, well, 1998 with free abandon!
