The vibrant village of Santa Gertrudis keeps buzzing all year round, partly in thanks to the availability of the freshly brewed specialty coffee on offer at Santa G Bagel House. While the crew normally take a rest on Sundays, this week they’ll be busy baking and boiling off-the-hook artisanal bagels for a special event dubbed ‘Need Money For Bagels’ from 11am until 4pm to celebrate the last day of the holiday season.
Partners and founders, Jorge Conde and Mónica Patiño, have designed an innovative and irresistible menu of bagel options, all lovingly hand-rolled, boiled and baked to perfection on site, from the luscious combination of house-smoked salmon layered over local goat cheese and cucumber to the irresistible blend of salty trout roe topped with herbs, seaweed, and chives. The smoked pastrami paired with marinated veggies is a take on the New York deli staple, and vegetarian options feature mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini.
