The humble bacalao gets a fine-dining glow-up on Thursday July 03, 2025, as The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel hosts THE COD XPERIENCE – a one-night tasting event at The Oyster & Caviar Bar that’s all about celebrating cod in its most creative forms. Guest chef César Marquiegui teams up with in-house chefs Alejandro González and Nico Piñeiro to craft a five-course menu that is bold and inventive with a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
Dishes include a zingy cod fritter with lime mayo; tiradito laced with black and white garlic emulsions; and a bold cod belly tempura served with piparra aguachile. From traditional kokotxa in pil-pil sauce to a final flourish of cod loin in red curry broth with steamed mussels, this is comfort food, reimagined. The set menu is 45€ per person, with a drink pairing option available for an additional 20€. Book ahead – this one’s going to be a catch.
