This July, Faro Ses Coves Blanques in San Antonio becomes the stage for I AM THE VESSEL, I AM THE SEA, a striking new exhibition by ceramic artist Yvette Spowers, curated by Rachel Weschke of Vessel Studio. Through the textures of clay, salt, beads and textile, Spowers explores themes of trade, bondage and the inherited patterns we carry, inviting viewers to confront and release their own ‘mind-forged manacles’, a poetic nod to William Blake.
The exhibition opens on Friday July 11, 2025, with an intimate vernissage by the sea, where the heritage of the lighthouse space meets contemporary thought. Spowers, born in Barbados and shaped by a life lived across cultures, uses material to connect histories and spark reflection. Entry is free, with plenty of parking available near Café Mambo and Café del Mar.
