While there are an array of Noche de San Juan fiesta events taking place across the island on Monday, to coincide with midsummer, there’s something to be said for heading to the northern town named for its patron saint, where authenticity and folklore fuse with music, fun, festivities and of course, food.
Take part in the annual ritual of jumping the fires in the village before dancing in the square to the sounds of local DJs and musicians. And don’t forget – the best place to stop and refuel is always The Giri Café, set in pride of place in the main village square. Table reservations are always essential for this busy saint’s day – it’s an annual highlight in the village social calendar that gets bigger and better every year and you don’t want to miss out!
