The winter months have seen the island’s most iconic entertainment venue, Teatro Pereyra, transform into a cultural and creative hub, hosting live performances, special events, screenings, comedy shows and much more. On Wednesday March 12, 2025, the venue’s velvet-draped elegance and olde-worlde charm set the scene for a night of thought-provoking cinema with a screening of the movie-of-the-moment, Anora – hot on the heels of its historic Oscars sweep last week.
Just a hop and a skip from the bustle of Vara de Rey in Ibiza town, an evening spent here is so much more than just a trip to the cinema. It’s a shared experience – one where stories unfold in the glow of the big screen and the magic of the latest bold and unfiltered feature from acclaimed director Sean Baker is brought to life in an atmosphere steeped in culture, history and creativity. Described as a modern fairytale without the fairytale ending, Anora follows a young woman (played by first-time Oscar-winner Mikey Madison) caught between dreams of luxury and the stark realities of survival.
