2025 Opening at Café del Mar
Nothing quite signals the start of a new Ibiza season than the opening of the iconic doors of Café del Mar. Sitting pretty on the rocky San Antonio coastline, this west coast classic has been soundtracking sunsets since the late 70s – long before there was even a ‘sunset strip’ to speak of. It’s the original sundowner spot and still the best seat on the island to watch the sky do its thing at the end of another perfect Ibiza day.
From 4pm on Thursday April 17, 2025, the terrace begins to stir – drinks are poured, a gentle hum of conversation drifts on the sea breeze and a few early arrivals stake out their favourite spot on the legendary terrace. The view hasn’t changed since 1980, when Café del Mar DJs played the very first sunset set to a handful of fold-up chairs and a sky full of promise. Fast forward 45 years and the chairs are somewhat sturdier, but the magic’s just the same. Reservations recommended.
