Art for everyone – CAN Art Ibiza 2025
Now in its fourth year, CAN Art Ibiza brings together international galleries, local artists and design creatives for four inspiring days in venues across Ibiza.
Every summer, Ibiza shifts into high season mode – sun-kissed revellers dance at beach clubs, late-night romance blooms at the island’s seductive restaurants and new openings seem to happen daily. For curator and art empresario, Sergio Sancho, the one thing that was missing from the island’s balmy summer days was art. Already heading up the UVNT Art Fair in Madrid, he knew he had to bring his vision to his beloved Ibiza by launching CAN Art Ibiza in 2022. Now in its fourth edition, CAN Art Ibiza opens on Wednesday June 25 and runs until Sunday June 29, 2025. For four buzzing days, the event space at FECOEV, just outside of Ibiza town, is a playground for international and local gallerists, artists, and curious aesthetes from around the world.
Sancho’s mission was to create a platform for contemporary art in a place better known for music, wellness and hedonism – and, in doing so, he’s carved out a space that blends cultural substance with a light and easy Mediterranean vibe. Unlike other international art events, CAN Art Ibiza is the kind of thing you can show up to straight from the beach. There’s no snobbery or intimidating arty types, just a group of wildly talented people talking, sharing and enjoying each other’s creativity. Everyone is welcome – this is art with sea air in its lungs and sand still stuck to its heels.

Curator Saša Bogojev also returns to CAN Art Ibiza this year with his incomparable vision. The Croatian-born, Netherlands-based writer and longtime Juxtapoz contributor has brought together a dynamic mix of international and Balearic galleries. His focus on new voices and material experimentation keeps painting at the core of CAN Art Ibiza, with a concurrent expansion into textiles, sculpture, ceramics and installation. The shift towards both abstraction and expressive figuration sees digital realism rub shoulders with raw brushwork and surreal landscapes.
Artists showing at this year’s CAN Art Ibiza include Erik Parker and Christian Rex van Minnen (VETA by Fer Francés), Aistė Stancikaitė (Marian Cramer Projects) and Gori Mora (Galería Pelaires). There are also strong works from artists like Ricky Lee Gordon (SUN. CONTEMPORARY) and Paul McKinley (Kevin Kavanagh), whose oeuvre explore nature, harmony and the human condition. The fair draws artists and galleries from Indonesia, Ireland, Denmark, the US, France and beyond, but CAN Art Ibiza remains firmly anchored in Spain, with a notable presence of local creators and Spanish galleries throughout the programme.

While FECOEV houses the main part of the fair, it’s the satellite events that are starting to really spark imaginations and conversations. The OFF Program returns for its third year, in venues scattered across the island. Highlights include exhibitions by Alba Suau and Adrià Mayordomo at the Faro de Ses Coves Blanques in Sant Antoni, Joan Canyelles at the Santa Eulalia Air Raid Shelter, and Ibizan artist Andrián Martínez at Sa Punta des Molí. In the old town, the Es Polvorí gallery hosts Guillermo Fornes, while Blanco Hotel Formentera(Paya Hotels) will exhibit work by Samuel Almansa, underscoring CAN Art Ibiza’s commitment to Balearic artistic visibility.
Running parallel to the OFF Program is CAN Local, a grassroots extension of the fair that collaborates with island institutions and independent galleries during the burgeoning Ibiza Art Week. This includes exhibitions at La Nave Salinas, Estudi Tur Costa, Estudio Laterna and MACE, with artists such as Miquel Barceló, Spencer Lewis, Edith Dekyndt and Pedro Pedro in the spotlight. These collaborations speak to the way CAN Art Ibiza threads international relevance with deep local connection, by building on what’s already flourishing. Public art too, plays a key role in the fair’s vision and from June 19, a monumental bronze owl by German artist Stefan Strumbel will be installed in the city centre – part of the Public Art programme introduced in 2024. Like much of CAN Art Ibiza, it’s a bold statement designed to delight and provoke.
Every iteration of CAN Art Ibiza has seen a new pathway towards creative understanding, experimentation, and exploration. This year sees the launch of CAN Design – a new addition to the fair, displaying a curated selection of collectible design and objects. Featuring Ibizan galleries Galería También and Soleille Gallery, alongside Madrid-based LA Studio, CAN Design widens the fair’s lens, offering visitors a view into the evolving language of form, material, and function. Whether you’re an interiors obsessive, a design collector, or simply someone who appreciates beautiful things, CAN Design ensures there’s something tactile, sculptural and unexpected to encounter.
CAN Art Ibiza is where collectors and curators mingle with beachgoers and design lovers, and where culture is open, participatory and communal. It reveals a deeper layer to Ibiza, presenting a place defined not by the nightlife or the coastline, but by the light, the landscape and the people who call it home. As the season begins and the island buzzes with anticipation, CAN Art Ibiza offers something a little different – a moment to pause and remember that art is for everyone.
