A new summer icon – Autry Ibiza
Cult footwear and fashion brand Autry introduced new model ‘Sandy’ – the ultimate sneaker-espadrille hybrid for summer – at their new pop-up boutique in El Silencio Ibiza in Cala Molí, with a celeb-studded party, music by Seth Troxler, the perfect island sunset and of course, shoes, shoes and more shoes!
There’s a certain type of magic in the air when golden hour casts its glow over Cala Molí, the tiny, secluded, and beloved-by-locals cove on the west coast of Ibiza. Beautiful, bohemian beachgoers casually shake saltwater from their hair and throw on cute cover-ups as they stroll into El Silencio Ibiza for sundowners, or across to its terrace for a curated sunset listening experience at Urusai Sunset Lounge. On Tuesday June 24, 2025 however, the regular golden hour gathering took a turn for the extra-glamorous, as cult footwear and fashion brand Autry hosted a star-studded soirée to celebrate the launch of its latest model, the ‘Sandy’, along with the opening of its exclusive pop-up boutique within the beautiful beach club.

Whether fresh from the beach, their Ibiza homes or off a luxurious yacht, special guests from the worlds of fashion, film, art, music and social media mingled on the sandy-floored restaurant, sipping cocktails and champagne as the sun began to set and the Autry festivities began. Renowned actress Paz Vega (who has long held a place in the hearts of Balearic fans, thanks to her titular role in the classic film Sex and Lucía), alongside her partner, entrepreneur Orson Salazar, joined British actor (and Ibiza aficionado) Luke Evans, and Spanish actors María Pedraza, Jason Fernández, María de Nati and José Lamuño. Other guests from the creative landscape included author and multidisciplinary artist, Alejandra Remón, artists Jorge Parra, and Anastasia Bengoechea, aka Monstruo Espagueti, and Spanish-Croatian visual artist Filip Ćustić, among others.

The subtly chic minimalist Autry pop-up boutique – designed by the ‘it architects’ at Crosby Studios – is at once beachy and elegant, decked in sandy hues that echo the venue’s surroundings, not to mention to moniker of the brand’s latest creation. A feature wall displays an array of the sneaker-espadrille hybrids, suspended like art for all to see – the perfect way to showcase the Autry ‘Sandy’ in all its glory. Described by the brand as ‘not just a shoe, it’s an attitude’, guests were encouraged to try the comfortable Mediterranean-inspired footwear, made with sustainable materials, for themselves. The versatile shoes can be worn traditionally (like trainers) or in the typical island style, with the foldable heel down to create a stylish, backless slipper effect.
Design lovers will recognise the brand’s iconic, 80s-inspired ‘Medalist’ suede or canvas upper, while style setters will revel in the espadrille-esque rope-stitched soles that evoke the essence of an endless summer on the beaches (and the dancefloors) of Ibiza. Sunset yellows, sandy creams, sea blue, moss green and rich, earthy brown tones inspired by the farmlands of the island – there’s a ‘Sandy’ for everyone in the new collection. The Autry Ibiza pop-up boutique at El Silencio Ibiza is open to the public daily until the end of August – what better reason for a spot of summer retail therapy?
Once the formalities (as relaxed as they were) were over and the stars were twinkling above the sea, it was time to truly party – Ibiza style. Autry invited none other than eclectic American DJ and producer – and Ibiza-dweller himself – Seth Troxler to take to the decks, along with MosaKlub and Mario Agliata, keeping guests on their Sandy-clad toes, until late. It was one of those Ibiza nights, where the magic of El Silencio Ibiza fused with the creativity of the worlds of fashion, music and art to celebrate the launch of a new summer icon. Welcome to the world ‘Sandy’!
