For its final act of the year, beautiful Benimussa restaurant Essència by Can Vistabella has devised an unforgettable culinary performance; a New Year’s Eve Feast dubbed The Grand Finale, where every dish takes centre stage and where every ending is a new beginning. Open to the public in addition to hotel guests, the cosy and intimate restaurant is spearheaded by talented head chef Francisco Moreno, who, alongside the dedicated Can Vistabella team, takes you on a culinary journey to remember long after the clock strikes 12.
For the Opening act, The Curtain Rises, and diners are treated to a Nippon sea bite of nori, shimesaba, gari and wasabi-yuzu mayo, and an Andean octopus taco. For the First Act, it’s all about a Symphony of Flavours, with goat cheese korokke, mint, sobrasada sauce and hazelnut crumble fusing local flavours with international flair, and Yucatán chicken pibil tacos adding some zest to the occasion. The Piti Pause – a ‘refreshing interlude’ – comes next, with a choice of middle eastern sea bass served with cauliflower-tobiko purée, samke-hara and spinach; or Berber cannelloni filled with savoy cabbage and lamb tagine, with ras-el-hanut parmentier and pomegranate reduction.
For the Grande Finale, aka, The Final Act, diners are treated to a festive Chantilly cream millefeuille with raspberries and Champagne sorbet, followed by party favours and the traditional lucky grapes for midnight. The menu is just 90€ per person (excluding drinks) and prior reservations are essential to ring in the new year surrounded by like-minded people in this hidden gastronomic gem.
