Situated in the heart of Dalt Vila’s cobblestoned restaurant plaza, La Torreta Ibiza has been delighting gastronomes for over 44 years. While the setting is indeed special, the true magic behind this iconic Ibiza fine dining restaurant stems from its exquisite Mediterranean fusion cuisine and the passion of its charismatic team – beloved by diners from across the world for making every single evening a special occasion.

Prior to becoming an Ibiza fine dining destination, La Torreta Ibiza had many lives. The interior of the restaurant is built into the ancient walls of a 12th century watchtower, crowned by a dome that was once an integral defence point for the old town. Over the years, as life and the island itself evolved, buildings within Dalt Vila were transformed into residential dwellings, shops and restaurants. In the early 1950s, the watchtower was acquired by a local seamstress, who utilised it as her studio, until 1982 when her daughter, Eva Fernandez Mari, decided to put her own stamp on the family legacy.

With a new generation at the helm, the building was beautifully restored, and the neighbourhood gained a stunning new fine dining restaurant. The area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Listed Site in 1999, and to this day, La Torreta Ibiza proudly presides over the pavement from 6pm nightly throughout the summer. The space now extends to the opposite side of the street, where its blissfully cool Chillout Zone provides a tranquil, low-lit space for guests to sip signature or classic cocktails while waiting to be seated or as an after-dinner treat.

While the square takes on the atmosphere of a living theatre, complete with colourful characters and street performers all night long, lovers of La Torreta Ibiza know the real star of the show here is the cuisine. Under the creative direction of chefs Pedro Jiménez and Mauro Orgiazzi, the Ibiza fine dining restaurant’s contemporary menu showcases fresh local produce and Mediterranean ingredients through an international lens – think fusion-style gastronomy with island flair.

Whether you’re dining alfresco or have the privilege of being seated at the exclusive 12-seater table inside the tower, La Torreta Ibiza offers something to suit all palates. A selection of sharing plates is ideal over cocktails: homemade Iberian ham croquetas, sautéed squid with Ibizan sobrasada and caramelised onions – a house speciality – and warm camembert with sweet pear jam. Afterwards, move onto the Ibiza fine dining restaurant’s selection of fine wines, paired with starters such as the hand-cut steak tartare; grilled wild asparagus on a bed of pistachio pesto, black olives, ricotta and olive oil caviar; or glazed carrots with maple syrup, tofu cream and cashews.

Mains at La Torreta Ibiza include the fan-favourite grilled octopus with chipotle romesco sauce; a decadent crispy duck confit served with orange sauce and potato gratin; and crispy salmon in a port reduction. Vegetarians adore the gorgonzola and pear ravioli with butter and sage; or the sweet potato tagliatelle with macadamia, coconut and truffle oil, while carnivores’ dreams come true with a 17-hour slow-cooked lamb shank; the boneless suckling pig; and the grilled-to-perfection beef tenderloin with foie gras.

A true grand dame of the Ibiza fine dining scene, La Torreta Ibiza provides a fabulous setting for birthdays and special occasions (every night calls for sparklers and the team bursting into song), sets the right romantic mood for engagements, and treats every evening as a celebration. Whether it’s your first time or your 50th, you’ll be greeted like cherished family friends: come for the centuries-old setting and famous fusion cuisine, and you’ll leave with memories to last a lifetime.
