There’s an undeniable island ambience to Ivanka Moravová’s creations. The projects executed through her eponymous Ibiza interior design firm, Studio Moravová, are at once breezy and free, while remaining urbane and chic. Born in the Czech Republic and raised in Canada, Moravová was passionate about colour, texture and design from a young age. The multilingual (English, Spanish and Czech) designer completed a BA in Interior and Product Design at the Academia Italiana, before finalising her studies with a master’s degree from the esteemed Elisava School of Design and Engineering in Barcelona. Moravová was working in Copenhagen when she finally succumbed to the island’s call, founding her own Ibiza interior design studio shortly after arriving in 2022. Since then, Studio Moravová has become an established part of the Ibiza design ecosystem, offering a unique approach both creatively and organisationally.

The process of working with Studio Moravová starts with connection. Moravová quizzes her clients on their lifestyles, hobbies and dreams to better understand what they need from their spaces. Arriving at design from an emotional perspective provides clarity and direction. She asks how you want to feel when you get home – a question intended to reach deep into the psyche, to better serve her clients’ visions and lifestyles. Moravová arrives at the first site visits with a selection of samples – fabric swatches, wood blocks and metal pieces. As the client touches each piece, the intuitive Ibiza interior designer gauges their emotional response. Understanding the visceral reaction a client has to certain materials further narrows down the elements that will deliver joy and comfort. Back at Studio Moravová, the team assembles a digital mood board and what Moravová calls a materials board – a shelf or part of the office wall where various samples that will inspire the design are collated. It’s a tactile version of a Pinterest board and an exceptional method for visualising results. This, along with 3D imaging and regular client check-ins, guarantees a smooth and enjoyable process for all.

Frequently, Moravová will suggest the firm complete one small section of the project before the client commits to the rest. It’s an unusual methodology, but one that has a 100% conversion rate.
