SUMMARY: Good Friday Procession at Dalt Vila
DESCRIPTION:Holy Week\, known as Semana Santa in Spain\, is always a much-anticipated event as religious traditions unfold across the island in the days leading up to Good Friday. The most powerful moment comes on Friday April 03\, 2026\, at 8pm in Dalt Vila\, when Ibiza town pauses and its usually busy streets fall still. As dusk settles\, hundreds of penitents dressed in traditional nazarenos – flowing robes and tall\, pointed hoods – take to the cobbled streets\, carrying effigies of Jesus and the Virgin Mary\, along with a towering wooden crucifix.  \nThe procession moves slowly through the cobbled streets of the old town\, stopping at churches along the way before returning to the Cathedral for a special midnight mass. It’s a deeply moving display of devotion\, history and community – one of the most striking sights you’ll witness in Ibiza. Roads close\, crowds gather and parking becomes scarce\, so it’s worth planning ahead and arriving early to find a good vantage point.
